Adomicilioretratos presenta: Amistades y cosas

Duo Exhibition
Instituto Telearte
Santiago de Chile
2022

Amistades y cosas is the third and most recent project of the art collective ADR.
For this occasion, since the COVID pandemie was still an impediment for normal socialising and human interaction, the artists decided to make a reverse exercise and instead of visiting homes and portraying their inhabitants, friends of the artists would be invited to one of the artists home (Magdalenas or Aranzazus) and were to be portrayed in there.
Apart from portraits of friends, Amistades y cosas also gathers an extensive amount of still life paintings of the artists house objets, as a form of also portraying and revalorizing our own living spaces which had become an overly important part of the last years surroundings, since quarantines and lockdowns forced all of us to stay inside the house.
Another interesting aspect of this exhibition is that it recollects the surroundings of the two artists which happen to live in very different places (Chile and Germany) making of this exhibition some sort of reunion/gathering of both houses.

Part of the project was also to do a portrait marathon which took place days after the opening and people who wanted to be portrayed would be encouraged to come and sit for a quick sketch.
