Adomicilioretratos presenta: Teleretratos

Duo Exhibition
Parque Forestal
Santiago de Chile
2020

Teleretratos is the second project of the art collective Adomicilioretratos (ADR).
Following the initial interests towards portraying and creating a community around art, Teleretratos appears also as a response to the communicational crisis implied by the global spread of the virus COVID 19.
Since people were not allowed to leave their homes, ADR created a service in which the artist would visit each house and do a portrait of the person using webcam.

Similar to the first project; Adomicilioretratos, the person who wanted to be portrayed would send an email soliciting an appointment and the portrait would be made by one of the two artist, which also happened to be living in completely different parts of the world, one in Chile and the other in Germany.
Teleretratos made digital appointments and portrayed people from more than 5 countries during almost 8 months, in which 86 portraits were made.

To finalize the whole project, since art galleries or cultural spaces were closed due the pandemie, ADR joined art collective: Colectivo Melancolía which contribute with a 3 mts long x 2 mts tall plastic pseudo art gallery bubble, in which inside the artists and paintings would be, creating some sort of performative art exhibition.
The performance took place at Forestal Park at the center of Santiago city and people who were portrayed by us were invited to come and pick up their paintings.
Since the park is a public space, people who were passing by were also invited to watch and  participate.
